In your show this morning you discussed ways of saving fuel, and what we should do as believers to overcome an almost empty tank in our spiritual walk. Matthew 11:28-30 tells us “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” One of the things we talk about with our customers when they want to get maximum fuel efficiency, is “How much junk, have you got in that trunk?!!” Folks carry all sorts of things that rob fuel efficiency, extra tires/wheels, bags of sand/salt, heavy tools, etc. Removing weight will improve economy and make it easier for our vehicles to perform. As God’s people living in a fallen world, we all carry burdens and worries that rob us of our Spiritual efficiency, and keep us from the joy God intended. We need to get rid of that junk, by casting our burdens on the ample shoulders of the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords! Only then will we be free to move unfettered through the Highways of life.
